Standards:
Communication
- Standard 3.3: Public Speaking with Proper Usage of a Microphone
- I was the MC at the 2022 Back to School Rally. I had to speak for two rallies at Tracy High School in front of teachers and students. I had to be patient and know how close I could be to the microphone for it to not be too loud or too quiet.
SEMESTER 2
- Standard 2.6 The student leader actively prepares and asks valuable questions
- I had to lead interviews with the rest of the ASB Council for next years leadership class. This had given us the opportunity to come up with constructive and valuable questions for the people going to get interviewed. As the interviews went on, I had gotten better at speaking to everyone and learned that I can lead in a more intimate setting versus a big crowd.
Semester 1: Senior Year!!
- Standard 6.1: The student acknowledges the value of feedback for both personal and organizational growth.
- After our THS Jeopardy, we did a "Pros and Changes" list to show what we can do to better prepare for next year. Nonetheless, I won't be here next year, but I do want to help next year run smoother. Seeing the things that went well and the things that could be better for the future really help reflect on the things we did and what we want to change to better the future of the class. This photo is just an example for our events that we have in leadership. We do this for most of our events that we have so that each event can improve for the future.
Semester 2: SENIOR YEAR!!
Standard 3.1:
Personal and Social Development
- Standard 1.1: Acknowledges Different Personality Types and Work in an All Inclusive Group
- I was a Link Crew leader that helped organize and show the freshmen around campus to get more involved and comfortable with their new school. I had to make sure that the freshmen felt welcome before they started school and able for them to know that they had a friend and familiar face around campus.
SEMESTER 2
- 3.2 The student leader analyzes one's strengths and areas of improvement to develop a validated self-perception, self-competence, and growth mindset.
- At Tracy High, we had a motivational speaker come to our campus. He had opened my eyes to see that every single person, even our friends, have stories to tell. You cannot assume that everyone around you is exactly how they appear. I really felt the compassion and integrity coming from Monti and it changed my mindset to represent the people on the campus that aren't reached and honestly put myself into other people's shoes more.
Semester 1: Senior Year!!
- Standard 1.6-The student leader celebrates accomplishments and recognizes the contributions of others.
- After the class' very first spirit week, dog pound, dance, and rally, I decided to recognize the leadership class on all their hard work from the past week. I know that getting reassured can show the class not only how much I care, but also assures them that they are not going unnoticed. But instead, that they are heard and seen. I posted this on BAND where each student had the access to see that they were appreciated for their efforts the previous week. Below is a picture that shows what I said to appreciate the students and their accomplishments.
Civic and Service Learning
- Standard 3.2- The student leader participates in a service activity or project to serve a specific need of others.
- I was a water girl for the Tracy High Varsity Football team for practices and their away games. I would go to their practices and warmups to help them have more sufficient practices.

SEMESTER 2
- 1.3 The student leader recognizes the value of memberships in, and/or partnership with, associations-groups of people organized for a joint purpose.
- I work at Starbucks. In this environment, not only do I have to learn how to work as a team with my coworkers, but I also have to engage with my community. My job has opened myself up as a person and helped me achieve my goals in leadership. It has made me more comfortable in talking to others, easier at starting conversations, and a better leader overall. I was able to be a part of my community while learning more about myself at the same time. My job is something I take pride in, the same way I take leadership. My work location has also been a great spot for my friends and family to feel comfortable to hangout in, which really solidifies the community environment that Starbucks and myself create everyday.
Semester 1: Senior Year!!
- Standard 3.3: The student leader experiences and recognizes the benefit of serving others.
- Before the year started, I was able to help the admin at my school and hand out students' schedules. I saw admin that were able to relax more because I was able to help them. There were admin that acknowledged and appreciated me because they were able to have less stress. I found it helpful to the school by offering them service to help. It gave admin the opportunity to worry about more important things to do and be productive.
Government
- Standard 1.2: The student leader acknowledges the relationship of power and authority between the student body organization, school staff, school district governing board, and state legislature.
- In our leadership class, I am in charge of a council all year and a committee for each quarter. I am in a setting with about 7 other people that I have to lead and guide all throughout the year. My council has to sit together everyday. We were asked this year to complete a scavenger hunt against other councils. In this experience, we all had to work together and use everyone's "power" to accomplish the end goal. It created team building and allowed everyone to have a voice while playing.

SEMESTER 2
- 1.2 The student leader acknowledges the relationship of power and authority between the student body organization, school staff, school district governing board, and state legislature.
- During May, the upcoming leadership class for next year had gone to a CADA Conference where we were assigned groups to go to based on how long we have been in the class. I was in level 4, showing that I was in my fourth year in the class. During this session, I had learned the importance of leadership and its building blocks within the class. It was also a great opportunity for the class to mingle and learn with each other. It was a very eye opening convention that helped me understand where my role as upcoming ASB President was going to help guide the class and the school next year.
- Standard 4.4: The student leaders utilizes inclusive meeting strategies for brainstorming, prioritizing, and project planning.
- Every Thursday, at least once a week, we have formal ASB Meetings with the whole leadership class. This is where class presidents give class updates, every other week class treasurers give budget reports, and there are committee updates for the events of the quarter. This lets everyone know in the class what needs to be accomplished and gets everyone in the loop of what is going on at the school. I lead the meetings and the ASB Secretary writes minutes down each week to so that there are weekly updates of what is happening currently at the school.
Business and Finance
- Standard 1.4: The student leader follows student body accounting procedures when performing bookkeeping tasks, making purchases, receiving and disbursing funds, and reimbursing vendors.
- Every ASB Meeting, Mr. Chitwood, our leadership advisor, and I always have to sit down and look at the purchases and reimbursements that are going on at Tracy High. We look over them and approve them.
Semester 1: Senior Year!!
- Standard 4.3- The student leader creates advertisements that are grammatically correct and visually appealing.
- This summer, the ASB VP and I worked on the dog pound t shirts for the upcoming school year. We needed to make sure the t-shirts would look good enough for people to buy them but also needed to be grammatically correct. Normally, the dog pound designs are the same as the previous year but we wanted to do something different. Of course, there was risk but it was fun to design something that we could call our own.
Technology and Digital Citizenship
This website it my digital leadership standard.
Semester 1: SENIOR YEAR!
- Standard Video and Photography: Standard 1: The student leader recognizes the role of video and photography in the promotion of positive school culture.
- For my senior project, I created a podcast advocating for mental health. I had to record myself and those that I interviewed with to help advocate for the wellness of mental health. This created a positive atmosphere for my friends and told them that I could always be there for him. My podcast was for the greater good for listeners to be okay with vulnerability when talking about their mental health.
